2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parades and Events Spartanburg SC

They say everyone’s a little bit Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, but we like to think it’s because it’s a welcoming holiday. Everyone dons green, hits the town and tries their darndest to speak in an Irish accent. Some people use this holiday as an excuse to down some green beer or whiskey, but there are also plenty of family-friendly events and parades to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2017 right here in Spartanburg SC.

Irish Festivals in South Carolina

While we’ll be seeing plenty of violently green attire throughout the month of March, there are also plenty of people here who are proud to celebrate their Irish heritage. Here are just some of the festivals that take tradition into account.

Tartan Day South – March 29 – April 2, 2017

The Highland Games and Celtic Festival is going on its seventh year, and it takes places a bit after St. Patrick’s Day to avoid the hubbub of the 17th. We particularly love this festival because it not only includes your traditional events like dancing and Celtic music, but there’s a British Car Show and Highland athletics. It’s also noteworthy to mention that this event celebrates a wider variety of backgrounds than St. Patrick’s Day and puts more focus on heritage and pride. This event is a bit of a drive for us here in Spartanburg, but it’s worth the trip.
