What do all the VW dashboard warning lights mean?
When you first buy a new car, everything is perfect. Your odometer is low, with just a few miles traveling onto the lot or maybe from test drives at the dealership. You know there isn’t any hidden history or problems with your model. But if you don’t keep up with maintenance, and sometimes even when you do, there’s bound to be trouble at some point. If you’re lucky, you find out when a light comes on. If you aren’t, you hear a funny noise or things just don’t run as smoothly. So what do all the VW dashboard warning lights mean, and how important are they? Read the rest of this entry »
2018 Volkswagen Atlas Weekend Edition at 2017 Chicago Auto Show
During the coldest months of the year, auto shows shine. You’d think it’d be the opposite, but it’s actually the perfect time for indoors events. Especially for models like the upcoming 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, which will hit dealerships in March. That’s just ahead of the summer season, when many people are considering their outdoor needs. VW kept this in mind, bringing the Weekend Edition 2018 VW Atlas to the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. Read the rest of this entry »
Difference between new Tiguan and VW Atlas
Volkswagen has made a bold choice: finally bring more SUV options to the lineup. If you don’t think that’s bold, you don’t know what the competition looks like. You see, SUVs have exploded on the American market in a way they haven’t necessarily over in Europe, which puts VW in an awkward position: is it a smart investment to create entirely new models for just one market? It’s not that America isn’t a large market (it is), but Volkswagen is much more popular over in Europe. Well, VW is taking the plunge and releasing both the new long-wheelbase Tiguan and the Atlas, but what’s the difference between them? Read the rest of this entry »
Volkswagen wire-free heated windshield
Even if we don’t find our vehicles covered in snow here in South Carolina, we still see some blustery mornings that leave our windows covered in a thin layer of frost. It’s hard to scrape off, and many of us don’t keep deicer on hand. Waiting for your car to heat up can be a real pain, too, but there’s soon to be a different way. Volkswagen has created a wire-free heated windshield that uses a conductive silver layer in order to heat it, melt the frost and prevent new frost from forming. Read the rest of this entry »
Volkswagen I.D. Buzz interior virtual tour
As far as concepts are concerned, they tend to come and go. We get hyped up when they are first flaunted, but many of them never get built. For those who have been waiting for the Microbus, which has been out of circulation since the late 1970s, there’s been quite a few teaser concepts, but no promise of a comeback. It seems this might all change as Automotive News reports that a VW insider says the model will go into production and could be released as early as 2022. Volkswagen has also released a virtual tour for the Volkswagen I.D. Buzz, though we’d expect some changes if autonomous driving isn’t possible by then. Read the rest of this entry »

What is the Volkswagen CES 2017 App?
If you had told us 20 years ago that virtually anything we buy could be customized to suit our own preferences, we would have thought you were crazy. Everything is swiftly becoming connected, and you can buy special electronics to lock your doors, adjust your lighting and change your room temperature all by using apps in your phone. We used to think it was nifty to clap your hands to turn lights on and off. Well, the next big thing appears to be not only customizing your driving experience, but having access to your preferences in rental cars or any other vehicle from the same brand. At least, that’s what VW seems to be saying with its new app that will function at the 2017 CES. So what is this app and what’s its purpose? Read the rest of this entry »
What is VW bringing to NAIAS?
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) kicks off next month in Detroit, running from Jan. 8 through 22. Automakers from all over the world will be converging on the ancestral home of the automobile to show off their latest innovations for the coming model year and beyond. Volkswagen will certainly be there showing off its outstanding line of vehicles including its latest addition the 2018 VW Atlas midsize crossover SUV. However, the star of the show might be the newest member of the conceptual Volkswagen I.D. family. The first of these were shown off at the Paris Motor Show in September, but this latest concept model is going to be quite different. Read the rest of this entry »
Another look at the 2018 Atlas story
Vic Bailey Volkswagen customers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 2018 VW Atlas. The all-new crossover SUV is the first midsize type of the class to be designed and built in the U.S. by VW. Engineers and designers from Volkswagen simply didn’t take an existing model and add to it to make it a larger vehicle. The 2018 Atlas was actually born of a concept vehicle called CrossBlue which debuted in 2013. Changes made during the development process include updates like integrated LED daytime running lights and the available Volkswagen Digital Cockpit system. More details for the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas will be made available once the vehicle is closer to arriving in the Vic Bailey showroom. Read the rest of this entry »
